Whether you need pain relief, reduce tension and stress, anxiety, or depression, increase flexibility, or relax and keep up a self-care routine, we've got you covered.
Hi! Call me Connie K. Licensed by the Medical Board of Ohio in 2002, I was honored to train with a retired anatomy teacher of Wright-State University of 30 years. Since moving to Florida in 2009, I've trained through FSMTA with prominent instructors in the field to include myofascia, lymphatic drain, reflexolgy, and cranial sacral therapy just to name a few. I truly appreciate you checking out my credentials and hope it encourages you to experience how medical massage can benefit your health.
I'm Joanne Petersen. Genuine and kind-hearted with a passion for helping people feel better and reach their full potential in mobility and pain-free living. I've been a licensed massage therapist for over 10 years mainly in the field of medical massage working with some of the best chiropractors around. Upon joining The Well, I look forward to utilizing my experience in the medical aspect, but also incorporating Swedish Massage for relaxation and self-care practices to meet your needs.
A medical massage focuses on a medical need. It is often used to manage pain, reduce inflammation, improve circulation, relieve nerve compression, improve digestion, increase flexibility and other health care concerns as well as help you relax and reduce stress to aid in the recovery process.
Lymphatic massage is a light-stroke technique that encourages the movement of lymph fluids throughout the body. The fluid in the lymphatic system lays just beneath the skin and helps remove waste and toxins from the bodily tissues. Lymphatic massages are exceptionally beneficial for pre and post surgical procedures as well as conditions that cause fluid retention such as fibromyalgia and lymphadema.
Myofascial release massage therapy is a gentle and effective hands-on massage technique useful for treating skeletal muscle immobility and pain by relaxing contracted muscles, improving blood, oxygen, and lymphatic circulation and stimulating the stretch reflex in muscles.
Reflexology is the application of appropriate pressure to specific points and areas on the feet, hands, or ears that correspond to different bodily organs and systems which can benefit overall health, especially when combined with other treatments or modalities.

A therapeutic massage helps release muscle tension and increase your range of motion while focusing on a particular area of concern where tension has created discomfort. The amount of pressure of a therapeutic massage is more than that of a Swedish massage with the possibility of some soreness being present afterwards as this technique carries blood and nutrients to your muscles while eliminating toxins and is a physical response to inflammation as your body heals.
Swedish massage is designed to relax the entire body by rubbing the muscles in long, gliding strokes in the direction of blood returning to the heart. However, the benefits go beyond relaxation as it can help increase the level of oxygen in the blood and improve circulation and flexibility as well as easing anxiety and stress. Perfect after a long week at the office or after an exam to put your mind and body at ease.
